DR. SHRIRAM VARADHARAJAN
Founder of vebinars.in, specializing in neuroimaging and stroke diagnostics, Dr. Shriram Varadharajan serves as a Senior Consultant in Neuroradiology and Clinical Lead. He also holds the position of Specialist Consultant for Stroke, focusing on administration and quality, while acting as a QAI Stroke assessor and advocating for holistic approaches as a stroke survivor.
As the brain behind Vebinars, Dr. Varadharajan is passionate about re-inventing radiology education through advanced techniques in neuroimaging.
In terms of academic excellence, Dr. Varadharajan completed his MBBS and CRRI at Madras Medical College and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai. He then earned his MD in Radio-diagnosis from PGIMER & Dr. RML Hospital in New Delhi, followed by a DM in Neuroimaging and Interventional Neuro-Radiology from NIMHANS, Bengaluru. His fellowship in Cerebrovascular diseases (Stroke) was completed at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, complemented by an Executive Programme in Healthcare for Industry 5.0 at IIT Delhi. He also undertook NABH MIS Assessor training and obtained a Fellowship in Clinical Governance from CAHO.
Dr. Varadharajan’s special areas of interest include clinical and applied research in neuroimaging, as well as stroke and cerebrovascular diseases.
His professional experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radio-diagnosis (Neuro-Radiology) at CMC & Hospital in Ludhiana, and as the Lead Consultant for Neuroimaging in the Division of Brain Imaging & Stroke. He is currently a Senior Consultant and Clinical Lead in Neuroradiology at Kauvery Hospital, Chennai, and a Visiting Professor at the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRMC).
In the realm of research and advanced education, Dr. Varadharajan has contributed to national and international publications focusing on stroke diagnostics, intra-cranial vascular shunts, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, and Parkinson's disease. He is currently pursuing a part-time Masters (M.Sc) in Stroke Medicine from Danube University Krems, Austria, with partial scholarship support from the World Stroke Organisation (WSO), along with a Diploma in Clinical Neurology from UCL, London, and PGRDRM in Rehabilitation Medicine from CMC.
His awards and recognitions include a travel grant from the LINNC Asia Seminar in 2016, being a member of the World Stroke Organisation Advocacy toolkit for Stroke, and delivering oral platform presentations at the Society of Therapeutic Neuro-interventions (STNI) and Indian Society of Paediatric Radiology (ISPR). He has also presented posters at various prestigious conferences including the World Stroke Congress (WSC), Indian Society of Neuro-Radiology (ISNR), Neurovascon, and the Indian National Stroke Conference (INSC). Dr. Varadharajan is a participant in the Future World Stroke Leader Programme by WSO, serving as a WSO SSO Committee Member and a WSO Certification Member, as well as holding a position on the Executive Committee of ISNR.
